...and make something wonderful, but the best I can do for now is to look through magazines and think about Christmas presents. That at least makes me feel like I'm being somewhat crafty/creative in the midst of all the moving details, which are not crafty or creative. I just know that it's going to be October before I know it, so I'd like to start planning for Christmas now.
Yes, I'm one of those people who starts planning for Christmas at least six months in advance. I guess it's because I like to make Christmas presents, and if I wait until Thanksgiving to start, the month of December isn't any fun at all and Christmas feels like a deadline to dread instead of a day to look forward to. Plus, we cut back on Christmas last year--a good change--and since I'm not giving as many gifts, I want to spend some time thinking about what would be best for each person in my life.
My list-y self would love to break out into a Christmas list right here and now, but since I give gifts to some of the people who read this, I can't give away the surprise. I do love surprises; it doesn't matter if I'm the surpriser or the suprisee, I just think surprises are wonderful.
Got a new Better Homes & Gardens in the mail today...I'm off to bed to read about one-day decorating projects. It is fun to think of having a new space to decorate. We're moving into my parents' house in Denver temporarily. (They're in the process of selling their current home and their new house is empty for the time being). So we'll take some time to find a new house to buy...but knowing us, that won't take very long. I think we'll probably be settled by Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving? I'm betting it will be closer to Halloween... :) Glad to get caught up on your life again - thinking about you and all of your transition and praying for everything to go smoothly.

I'm already starting to think about the holiday season too. What I want to make, what would be appreciated (some people actually don't like handmade items, can you imagine?), what would be useful and not clutter.
Yes, now is the time to put the thought in.
