After having a lazy morning complete with pancakes and scrambled eggs, we all piled into my dad's truck and headed for the Denver Zoo. It was wonderful to be together and wander around looking at camels, bears, and elephants, and trying not to look at snakes. (I really HATE snakes and am terrified of them. Most of my adult nightmares have to do with snakes; despite the fact that I've not really come across any in my day-to-day life. I think it stems from the third grade when Peter B. brought his pet boa constrictor for show and tell and my teacher made me touch it before she'd let me go home at the end of the day--despite my obvious terror and distress. Horrible, huh?)

I love the bears. I know they are wild animals, but I can't help wishing one lived in my backyard. They just look so friendly--especially this one with her beautiful smile!
