Backpacks are packed. School supplies are ready to go. I've been to Costco and have lots of juice boxes, pudding cups, and little bags of chips. Hair is all washed. Clothes are set out. I think we're good to go.
I've set the camera out on the breakfast table, so we'll be sure to take first day of school photos in the morning--something I do every year at the front door of whatever house we're living in at the time. I'm always amazed to see how much the girls have grown and changed.
Toben and I have a first day of school tomorrow too. While the kids have their first half-day, parents get to fill out forms, volunteer for all kinds of things, and get to know each other too. I think the girls are feeling good knowing that Toben and I will be at school for their first day.
Now I'm off to set out my clothes for tomorrow, so I don't have a clothing crisis and wreck the smooth morning I'm anticipating!
P.S. What happened to summer vacation? The neighborhood school here started August 3! And I thought August 17 was bad. Didn't summer used to last from about Memorial Day to Labor Day? We've only had about 8 or 9 weeks of summer this year. What happened to the other 4?
