I'm not normally a thrift shop girl. I've long been a fan of discount stores (Home Goods, Marshalls, and the like), and I love a good sale (did I mention the teak chairs I bought at The Great Indoors yesterday? Originally $80 and down to $15!).
Many of the thrift stores I've been to in the past smell funny and are full of polyester and rayon clothing. Uck. But then I see all the wonderful things people in blogland find at thrift stores and I've been ready to try again. I want to be a thrifty girl too!
So today we went to the Arc thrift store on Broadway--it's big, fairly clean, and no funny smells in sight. I found some great books, a cute dress for Audrey, a Paris print from Z Gallerie--all for about $10. (I also looked at sweaters and found some cute ones from J. Crew--but I can't quite bring myself to buy sweaters yet. I know it will get cold and snowy at some point--but I'm not going to deal with it until winter arrives!)
Have you checked our Maize Hutton's blog? She always finds incredible things at thrift stores/ church bazaars. I am hoping to become a thrifty girl too once we land in TX. The girls haven't provided much of an opportunity to shop for any length of time until recently. Oh - I tried your green beens last night with my pan-fried pork chops. They were delicious! Thanks.

Isn't it going to start snowing there in like two weeks?
You need to go do more thrifing (and, yeah, post pictures. If I'm gonna be jealous, I want to be REALLY jealous).
