I am having a hard time adjusting to this climate. Don't know if it's the huge variance in temperature each day (lows in the low 40s and highs near 80), too much cardboard handling, or just the dryness of Colorado in general, but my skin is NOT happy. My hands are dry and scratchy, my poor heels are prone to cracking, and my face is having a flashback to age 14.
Thank goodness for Proactiv and cocoa butter and this really great lotion that Terri bought for me that I keep in my car. But even with all that, I feel like I'm barely staying on top of it. I have thoughts of filling the bathtub with lotion and soaking it all up...but it would take too much lotion, and I imagine that cleaning up afterward wouldn't be very much fun.
It's that Colorado weather! Boy, do I remember it like it was yesterday. The hair, the nails, the skin...it's not even winter and the heaters aren't on! :) It is so dry there that when we first moved there Bryan would get bloody noses almost everyday. Use Shea Butter from L'Occitane if you can. It's pricey but worth it; especially great on the feet. Another line I used (& still use) is Arbonne. They have an excellent hand and foot cream. Good luck and kuddoes on the new home; looks great! Loved those pies...yummy.

We finally got some cooler weather here and I am dying for some really good soup. I have a pretty good recipe, but since it isn't on the menu, and I am trying to cut down on "spontaneous" trips to the grocery. It will have to wait until next week. Will it still be cool then??? Probably not. I think I may have just determined the reason for this stupid stuffy nose I have... changing temps. Usually does me in anyway, but with all the "training" I have been doing, I think my body is saying, "SLOW DOWN YOU CRAZY WOMAN!!!"
So, check the weather, and add my soup, YUMMY!!!
Sounds like you are settling in to CO, congrats!!!! Have great time at the craft palooza!!!

I have psoriasis and use Lacti-Care lotion. You can typically only get it at pharmacies and I have to have it special ordered. But it *works*. Seriously.

Hi. I just wanted to tell you I ran across your blog and enjoy reading it. We live in CA right now and are really considering moving to Colorado. It's so hard to make the decision. I love reading your discussions, like trying to adjust to the weather!!! I worry about moving there and not knowing anyone, and my kids not knowing anyone, but I know that just takes time. Are you glad you made the move?
