Here's a peek at some of the Christmas gifts I've spent the past few months making, but couldn't post in case I ruined someone's surprise...
Joyeux Noel garland for Kristen to hang between her living and dining rooms:
(Made from wooden letters and scrapbook paper and paint)
A knitted bolero for Kristen. I decided to give it to her after all!
(The pattern is available at nobleknits.com under the Chicks with Sticks patterns. I made it for her out of Lion Brand Woolease Thick and Quick because it's machine washable and dryable--something Kristen needs with a little one and another one on the way! This is a great pattern and knits up super fast--great for beginners.)
A knitting needle roll and little zip bag for my mom:
(I have a knit roll that's a little like this, but made up a new pattern for this one. I like that this has a flap to keep the needles inside when it's rolled up and I added some larger pockets for circular needles.)
A scarf for Mom from the Loop-di-Loop book and made from Lamb's Pride Bulky:
Mocha mix for neighbors and friends and teachers at school:
(Love these cute tins from Jo-Ann's)
Zippy bags for friends near and far--great for all those things that end up floating around the bottom of your purse:
(This is just a few of them. I made up a pattern and they went quick once I figured out the lining with the zippers. It was fun to find fabric in my stash and pick coordinating zippers and then Audrey helped me decide which ones went to which friends.)
Doll clothes for Audrey's American Girl dolls:
(Can't remember the pattern, but all the big pattern companies have a great selection of clothes for the AG dolls. Emma got some outfits too, but I haven't taken pictures yet.)
Doll pjs, robes, and towels:
And finally, Peter Rabbit for Ava--along with a set of Beatrix Potter books:
(The pattern is from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts and I can't remember the brand of wool I used, but I know it's machine washable since he'll probably need a bath from time to time!)
wow, what a wonderful handmaded holiday!
