I did my interview this morning, finished the outline for a possible book on dealing with marriage crisis, and was crafty! I'd show pictures, but I can't since the gals I was crafting for haven't had their birthdays yet (yes, you, Heidi! and you, Janna!).
I realize I haven't posted photos in waaaaay too long, so I thought I'd share these lovely illustrations. I love vintage books--especially vintage children's primers. These came from Every Day a Surprise, part of the Wonder-Wonder Series and published in 1956 and illustrated by Elizabeth Rice. Like many of the primers I have, this one came from a school library. Audrey loves to read these, and I think I need to get Emma started on them.
Aren't they lovely? I want to print them out and frame them, but I'm not sure where I'd put them.

On another note, I read A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle today. How could I have not read this since again since I first read it in the fourth grade? I think this may be one of my new favorite books. I'll write more about it over on The Newbery Project later (click the link on the left).
Adorable pictures. Hey why not photo copy them and then decoupage them onto one of the neat craft boxes you bought a while back!

Awww, in high school my sister had an English springer spaniel (I think that's what it was) that looked exactly like that one. His name was Pudge. He was precious (got hit by a car).
I love, love Wrinkle in Time. Oh, if I could just have a weekend all to myself to read, read, read. I read whenever I get a chance, but I just want to devour books and books. Someday...

OOOOOooooo....now I can't wait to hit the big 3-5!!! Something crafty is coming! Yahooooo!!!! I remember the wrinkle in time...so...when are you going to write a childen's book??!?!?! You have covered the adult arena, but Tory and Cade need some Joanne pages too! :) You are so crafty, you could create your own colorful illustrations too! (A knit sweater for the main character.... the little bunnies who were habitating your California garden last spring....the doll's clothes....Kristin to photograph the little scene set ups!) Hmmmm...am I planting a seed here?
