My house is a pit.
The floors under the table are crumb-y, the kitchen floor has spills that have left spots, the bottom of my shower is grimy, the dust-bunnies along the edges of the rooms and under the couch are mating and reproducing like--well, rabbits. There's laundry neatly folded in the basket that's been waiting to be put away since Monday, the bathroom mirrors are splotchy with water marks, the windows have puppy nose prints and the sliding glass door has little girl hand prints. The kitchen counter is crumb-y and even sticky in places. The TV is dusty, there's litter on the floor outside the litter box.
In short, it's a disaster.
Confession number two? I'm not going to do a thing about it today.
Audrey is home sick with a sore throat, sniffly nose, and feeling tired and worn out. And I'm going to hang with her and work on her costume for the play that I've been promising to start for the past ten days.
So I'm not sure if that was good for my soul, but here's to keeping it real!
You just described my house half the time! Try as I might to keep up with the dishes and dirt and clutter, it eventually wins out until I have a whole day to scrub it all up. I don't know how working women with spotless homes do it! No sleep?

Real is always good. It helps us to go, "Yep, me too!"
Praying for Audrey to feel better soon!!

That's my house too! I actually took pictures (I know, right?) and I thought I might post them...ya know, before and afters! I just haven't gotten up the nerve to show how shameful it looked. No worries, tomorrow's another day! Sewing sounds like more fun to me anyway!! I hope Audrey feels better soon!!

I just had to pick myself up off the floor. I hardly believe you! While I appreciate you being "real" (and okay, I do believe you), you've shattered my idea that your house is always perfect. I should know better. I know how these things happen! Have fun nursing Audrey back to health and sewing the day away. Way more fun than cleaning, if you ask me!

Mine's there, too (well, not the cat litter. Which is a good thing, since I don't have a cat!) I'm hoping to work on it over the weekend. Some things are just more important than housekeeping.
Hope Audrey feels better soon!

Keep it real! You just described my house too. I'm not going to do anything about mine today either - I'm going outside to play with my girls.

Keep it real, sistah... Take care of those important things. :) And I hope Audrey feels better soon!

Amen, sister. Isn't it good to know you're not the only person on the face of the earth who's not perfect? I'm certainly glad to know I'm not the only one who's not perfect, that's for sure! :)
Much love,
Trish

As much as I love hearing the amazing things you do in your life I LOVE hearing that you are real and that I am not the only one feeling like my house is going to take me down :)

Some days there is nothing like throwing the "to do" list to the wind and just being a snuggle mommy right along side a sick baby girl...no matter how big they get! You rock for keepin' it real and for knowing where God wanted you today! Enjoy the chill out. That there's a good, good day! (A little NC twang for ya!) Hugs to Audrey for getting better...and a little gingerale with a bendy straw anyone?!?!? ;)

So glad that you are REAL! We all get to those places... you just have to let it go... deal with the important things. The dust bunnies will still be there when you are ready to tackle them :) Happy Weekend...

I am so incredibly happy when I find out my friends' houses get as grungy as mine. You made my day! :)
