I think we've pretty much established that I am of no help in the sewing department! But I'm anxious to see what you'be been sewing and the tees when you are done!

I have not sewn knits either, but I've read in other blogs that Sew U Home Stretch is a good book. It's all about sewing knits. The only other thing I've heard is you need a certain needle in your machine. I'd like to give it a try myself...maybe in the Spring.

Amy Butler has a wonderful blog--maybe you read her?

She has written several sewing books, and I even have one: Bend the Rules Sewing. I don't know for sure, but I think I've seen her work with knits on her blog before. If she doesn't know, I know she'd be able to point you to someone who does know how do to t-shirts. Good luck. Her email addy is right on her sidebar, too, BTW.

Hi there. My best tip is grab a tshirt (old one) and cut it up for a pattern. that way you know how its gonna fit. the sewing stretch book by built by wendy is also good.
When you sew the seams stretch the fabric a little and that way it wont pucker.
Hope that helps alittle... good luck sewing!

Do you have a serger/overlocker? That's the best way to sew knit fabric. For suggestions, some free(!!!) patterns and hints on sewing knit fabric (inc. what to do if you don't have a serger), check out

Theres a free pattern for a long sleeve t-shirt (you just have to create an account) at:
Hope this helps!
