I broke down and decorated for Christmas the day BEFORE Thanksgiving. I took down all the autumn decorations (with Pumpkin's help) and thought that since I was making a mess, I might as well go ahead and decorate for Christmas.
I use the dining room table as my staging area, getting everything out and unpacked and then decorating from there. The dining room gets done last--and I think I need some garland and maybe a table runner to finish it.
The great news is that the tree fit in front of the living room windows and I didn't have to move any furniture! I just tilted my big chair a little and everything fit perfectly. So I've had my quiet time for the past two mornings by the lights of the tree!
I took some other pictures, but I'll wait and join in Sophie's Christmas Tour of Homes on December 15.
The girls put up trees in their rooms too--I got new trees for them this year--their three- and four-foot trees weren't big enough for their ornaments. So $20 at Big Lots! got them six-foot trees--I'm wishing I got a couple more to go around the house.
They're not too big--and kind of skinny so one would be great in my room, and in the dining room too. Maybe next year...
It looks very festive. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your pictures later in the month.

Your tree looks great! I haven't even thought about Christmas decorating yet. I need to get on the ball.

I thought you were strictly an after Thanksgiving decorator! You broke your own rule!
(Me too! Almost a week early, and I haven't regretted it for one minute.)
Looks great.

Your house is so beautiful!!! And yes, the tree looks great. I found your blog a couple of weeks ago, and have been reading bits of it here and there. I am a mom of girls too (3 girls -ages 7, 5, and 2). I would love to hear sometime on how you teach your girls about God and the Bible.

We celebrated Advent too with our 3 girls. I think you are right it keeps the focus on Christ. My girls had trees in there rooms too...it is so fun to go to sleep by them. You may do this now but you can give them an ornament every year (date it ) and when they get married present them to them in a box, they now have a great start to their tree as a newlywed :) the snow picture is so peaceful.

I always have a hard time waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate, too! I put up everything except the tree a week or two before Thanksgiving. :)
I did a linkup of all the home tours from Colorado bloggers today and included yours!
