Isn't it funny how sometimes the smallest projects take the longest to actually do?
I've been meaning to hang these shelves in my bathroom since we moved into the house two years ago!
It took me all of seven minutes--including trips up and down the stairs to find the right screws and screwdriver.
(These shelves are the hymnal racks from the back of my church pew that sits in the nook by the door to the garage. No one could see them if they were on the pew, so I figured we'd use them someplace else.)
This next project only took a couple of months--I had bought the vocabulary cards a while ago and finally got around to framing them. I love the burlap (from my stash!) as the backing. Again, this took about five minutes to put together. And then a week or two of sitting on the counter before I took the 30 seconds it took to hang it up! (Also in my bathroom.)
And this is the sampler that Kristen gave me for Christmas. It sat on the kitchen counter for only a week before I decided to hang it in the kitchen window. I don't have wall space in my kitchen to hang this and love that it's now where everyone can see it.
I may have to move it in the summer when I open and close the window, but for now this is working great!
(Sorry for the funny light--the sun was just coming up and it was still kinda dark!)
Have any quick projects around your house that you've been putting off?!
Absolutely! The wooden scrapbook letters project! I finally got round to making those and I finished them within 30 minutes! That includes reading your instructions over and over again to make sure I was not making any mistakes. I've emailed you the pictures (:
I love that sampler you hung up in your kitchen! It's so pretty and appropriate for your kitchen!

How did you mount that picture on your window?? I'd love to do that! I love the use of the hymnal racks...that made it doubly cute! Happy Wednesday!

Ufortunately I have too many to count. I need to get busy, maybe this will be motivation.
I love the "Hair Do" so cute! And the pew shelves, very nice.

My Headboard!!!! It is propped up at the foot of my bed waiting to be installed at the correct end of the bed! Seriously, I am sure it'll take at most 7 minutes. It is a two person project, however, so I must coordinate a schedule with my dh. Soon...soon.

What great ideas...The pew one is my favorite!
I'm currently working on silhouttes of my kids out of fabric. I don't remember if that was one of your ideas or if I got it from someone else. I have the pics and just got the fabric in today :) Can't wait!
I think that we need to have a craft weekend and you and Meredith just need to fly out here to Arkansas!!! Actually I think that Amber, Lisa and I would love to fly out there!! Convincing the hubbies is another story!

So many, Joanne! It's really pathetic. Like the touch up paint that is still waiting for me in the master bath. Framing out some vintage record jackets for over the piano. Hanging up my framed brooches in the dining room... But this might have been the kick in the backside I sorely needed. (punny, huh?)
That sampler is perfection! xo

Um...binding a baby quilt...
Cleaning the downstairs bathroom.
going thru one junk drawer.
Oh, the list is long, but distinguished.

Re-hanging the closet door, clearing my desk top so that I can actually start to scrap book, re-organizing the pantry (anyone got good tips on that one?), and putting the Christmas boxes away in the garage so we can actually get a car into the garage. What excuse do I have? We had the weekend, followed by MLK holiday, followed by two days off of school because it snowed. That would be five total days of being at home - and yet projects are still sitting. Because sledding it so much fun when you only get to do it once every 5 years!
Peace,

I love the shelves! We are redoing our masterbath as we speak so I may have to steal that idea. We also have a very tiny(modest) house so I love any sort of wall organizing. Great to check back in with you. My hard drive died last week so I am trying to get caught up...hugs to you!

I have two projects that were suppose to be for Christmas, but have now become New Years gifts??!! I'm hoping to wrap them up this week.
Your shelves are great! You are exactly right, the small projects take the longest to complete because I always think I can put them off because they won't take that long! Something I need to work on this year!

i've been wanting to make new throw pillow covers for about 4 months. just haven't had the guts to get out my sewing machine (our house is really small, so once it's out i have to get it done quick).
also, i have 5 empty 16x20 frames above our couch. they are matted with no pictures. ugh.
least urgent is a cork board i want to make in my girls' room with an empty backless frame.
ps. i love that "hair do" thing. i have some vintage game cards that spell our last name that i was thinking of framing...now i'm more motivated. the burlap was a super idea, too!

I say the same things to my little ones regularly, and it often speaks to me as well. Great honest post and encouragement. Our God is loving and forgiving, and thankfully he is willing to guide us, even when we aren't so quick to choose the wise thing.
