In my little video post last week, I don't think I mentioned what I'd be memorizing for today. I learned Psalm 56:3:
When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
Short and sweet and such a necessary reminder. I don't feel like I live in fear nearly as much as I used to, but when I am afraid, I want my first response to be trust rather than grabbing for control or giving into fear by imagining all the horrible things that could happen.
With small fears, my tendency is to worry them--to keep returning to them and turning them over and over in my mind. Trust in that looks like handing it to God and letting go. And then reminding myself that it's not mine anymore; I gave it to him and he's taking care of it.
For next week, I'm going to learn 1 Corinthians 1:5:
For in him you have been enriched in EVERY way--
in ALL your speaking and in ALL your knowledge
There's no period at the end of that on purpose--because the sentence continues with more I'd like to learn. (And the caps are mine!) But I'll stick with this verse for now.

I Corinthians 1:5 - I love it! Verses 4-8 of chapter 5 are my hearts desire and prayer for this year.

Psalm 56:3 can be rock to stand on. I know that I can trust in Him and have no reason to fear...but, at times, I need that reminder :) This will be the next verse I teach my girls, I want them to have that same assurance I do when things get a bit overwhleming!

I love it that God takes our fears! Why do we try to hang on to them, when he is so willing and more than capable to take them?! Awesome!

Loved what you said about fears. I've always worried things to death.
Have a great week!
