We're up and gathering our things from Mom and Dad's and will head over to the house in a bit to get the animals packed up and the last few things in the car. I'll load the cooler and then we'll hit the road.
Now that it's here, I'm not feeling so excited anymore. I know I'll feel differently once we get on the road, but I hate saying goodbye to my family.
I told Mom this morning that we're going to think of it like going on a long vacation, so we really don't need to cry. But I'm not sure that's going to work.
Next stop...Albuquerque.
im so sorry.... goodbyes are hard....

A year will go by so fast, Joanne. And you have set wonderful goals for you and your family this year. Focus on those, and focus on the God who sent you on this (brief) journey. Praying for you today. :)

After 22 years in the Air Force we learned to NEVER say goodbye! We say 'you're in our hearts, we'll see you soon'! I've read your blog long enough and visited with you in San Antonio to know that you're an extremely positive person. Just remember it's not forever and with all you plan to do, this next year will FLY by!
BTW, your new 'do' looks great! What a great purpose you did this for.
Travel safe and know that y'all are in my prayers for a safe trip, and open hearts when you arrive in your new area...soak it all up and enjoy the area.
In His Love, Bobbie

This is sure to be a sad day today, but look ahead to tomorrow! Just remember the poster you made "A Gift of One Year." You have a wonderful opportunity before you! Good luck, savor, enjoy, and look for God at work in your lives.

Since I have never been out west ever, and without looking at a map, how far away will you be from your family? Leaving parents is always hard. I moved from Louisiana to Michigan for 3 yrs. I cried and cried when my mom would visit, and then go back home. That was a 20 hour drive, and we couldn't make it often!

I am late but I wanted to wish you safe travels. I'll pray for you & your family!
Remember to "Bloom where you are planted." This was said to me when I was a brand new-young wife married to a Navy guy! :)

Something more profound sometimes doesn't help... I think of what Dory says... "just keep swimming, just keep swimming." I've had days like your having, so confusing, I call it quick sand... will have more in the future.. keep swimming when it doesn't feel like you can! so many praying for you! The Lord will help you swim- :)
