On Fridays, we've been working our way through this book, The Story of Inventions, for our science curriculum. The girls ALWAYS want me to keep reading and beg me not to stop--even when the day's reading is over.
Not only is it fun and easy to read, it's filled with great illustrations and the skinny on inventions like chewing gum and toilets as well as the story of flight and Band-aids.
If you have a curious kid, this would make a great gift. Birthday, Christmas, Happy "I love you" day, you name it. Amazon has it for less than $10 here, so it would make a great birthday present for the next party your kid gets invited to.
Add a flashlight and you've got a perfect reading-under-the-covers kind of a book! (My all-time favorite gift to give kids.)
Adding the flashlight to the book is an awesome idea!!!

We're working on a unit about inventions right now too. This would be a great book for us to be reading right now. I may have to wander over to Amazon:)

Cool book! This looks like the kind of book that would be great for getting boys to read. They love this kind of non-fiction stuff!
