I love having pretty music on in the background while we do school. Inspired by my lovely friend Kimberly (visit her here--you will love her!), I purchased the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack from iTunes.
(Kimberly is also one of my dear in real life friends too--we "met" over blogging, then met for tea in Denver. An afternoon in Kimberly's home soothes my soul.)
We've listened to it over and over. And over. And over.
Anyone have any other great background music suggestions?
My favorite is "The Man from Snowy River" soundtrack.

I love the soundtrack from Cinema Paradiso. I also LOVE listening to Jim Brickman on his keyboards. Beautiful!

Although I've never seen the movie and it is an OLD soundtrack, I think you can still find it on iTunes...but I love the soundtrack for Somewhere in Time.
I listen to music all day! :)

P.S. I also love the Dances with Wolves soundtrack which I think is John Barry, too.

this is nothing about the music, just wanted to say thank for your comment today. I will tell you that God has been speaking to me and honestly - I think he wants to use my blog in someway. Come out of my shell a bit when it comes to my faith much like you are doing here.

I love the P&P soundtrack as well. Check out the soundtrack to "Atonement." The gentleman who did the P&P soundtrack did this one as well.
When we need background music to do our school work we also listen to Kenny Logins "Return to Pooh Corner" and "More Songs from Pooh Corner."

Hey there. I promise to get my Skype back up. We need to talk!
We always, always, always have music on in our house, in our cars, on our walks, in the office...and it runs from 70's & 80's R&R to Classical and everything in between. Guess I'm not help on specifics...but I crank Pandora in the office. Right now...it's all about the Christmas music, baby. LOVE IT. And I will not get tired of it between now and the beginning of January.
Love YOU.

Soundtracks make the best background music! I love the soundtrack from "Little Women" and "Great Expectation" year round, but for Christmas time my absolute favorite is the "Winter Solstice" collection from Wyndam Hill. It's some of the most beautiful instrumental pieces - some of which are classic Christmas hymns and carols, but there are also many original pieces as well. Whenever I put them on I feel like I'm back at my parent's house baking Christmas cookies with mother on a Saturday afternoon :-)
