Vicki

My name is Vicki and I live in Turlock, CA. This is really a splurge, but I would like the 90th anniversary Kitchenaid Candy Apple Red mixer. I already have a 36 yr. old Kitchenaid that is going strong so I don't really need a new one.

Account Deleted

I'm Ann & I live in Lincoln, Nebraska. I would like a signed copy of Michael Forsberg's new book Great Plains.

http://www.michaelforsberg.com/

Susan

Susan
Springfield, Virginia
I would like a 1972 Black Corvette (the same thing I've been asking Santa to bring me for about 20 years now)

Wendy

Hi, my name is Wendy Liu & I live in northern IL. I love your blog! I would like to receive a gift of weekly massages for a year (but I would settle for monthly massages). :)

Holly @ Crownlaiddown

Holly Smith
Monument, CO
I'd be so happy to see my friend, Joanne!!

But as for indulgent? I'd like a brand new sewing machine with fabric and books on how to do stuff, since I'm not very wise to it, yet.

Barbara Motyka

My name is Barb and I live in Fulton, NY. For Chrismas, I would love to get a gift certificate to the book store, so I could go in and just buy any book I wanted without looking at the price.

Angie Platten

I'm Angie living in Phoenix and gosh, what I would like for Christmas... to know how my bills were getting paid? Ok, maybe that doesn't count. I'd LOVE to have beautiful bedding to make my bedroom pretty for the first time EVER in my adult life. It's true. I'll be 45 years old in 2 weeks and have never had pretty bedding or anything pretty in my bedroom my entire adult life. How pathetic and sad is that?

Trish

Trish Anderson, central Arkansas ~ my "out-of-this-world, crazy, indulgent, if you could have anything, anything you wanted, what would it be?" Christmas wish would be that my hubby would find a super-dee-duper job in Colorado, Wyoming or Montana so we could move back up to the northwest. Oh, and I'd really like my friend Joanne to be there, too. ;)

Lorina

I am Lorina... I live in the South Asian Delta... and I would like a trip to the States to visit my family for Christmas... or I would settle for three books... The Power of a Praying Wife, The Power of a Praying Parent, and Caps for Sale... or if I had to have just one present, I would maybe have a massage.... but maybe I could go to Thailand to get it. :)

Kimberly

Kimberly

Trip to PEI, please!

Melissa

Melissa writing in from Lansdale, PA... love your blog... and the only crazy thing on my wish list is a bathroom makeover.

Yvette

Yvette
Highlands Ranch CO
A spa weekend with two of my closest friends including spa treatments, quiet time, and spa food with unlimited hot tea, warmed up blankets and a pile of movies to watch at the end of each day. Yep, that's what I'd want. (Oh, and a housekeeper that has a habit of putting something in the oven or crockpot as soon as she gets to the house and every week a new drawer or closet is cleaned out and organized. (Sorry that's two things but hey I can dream)

Lindy

Hi...my name is Lindy i live in florida. I would like a GODLY husband... who can cook, is a handyman, loves animals and nature. Good sense of humor. Likes to travel. Will love me unconditionally! oh wait, what am i saying? i have him... JESUS :) now if i could just have him in an earthly form that would be a great christmas present.

Mindy May

My name is Mindy and I live in Chicago, IL. If I could ask for one thing for Christmas it would have to be a vacation with myself and my son. Maybe Disney World. With the hustle and bustle of us both being in school (college and first grade) we haven't been connecting and I feel like we are battling all the time. We both need attitude adjustments. And a little getaway would be perfect.

Sharon

My name is Sharon. I live in Colorado Springs and happened upon your webpage months ago when I was on your sister's blog. We used to go to the same church and be in a bible study together. For Christmas I would love to have made up my mind on whether or not I am going to continue working after my baby girl arrives in February.

Megan Kretizberg

My name is Megan, I live in Broomfield, CO. I would LOVE new flooring for my entire house for Christmas or a trip to Hawaii just my husband and me!!

Anna G

My name is Anna and I live in north-east Texas. If I was going to ask for something outrageous for Christmas it would be a trip to Las Vegas to see Cher in concert. I have been a closet fan since I used to watch re-runs of the Sonny and Cher show as a child.

Kellye

Hi!! My name is Kellye and I live in South Louisiana!! If I could totally splurge and Santa would bring me anything for Christmas, I think I would have to have Candice Olson come and decorate my entire house...IM BRUTAL!! That would include my wanna be craft room upstairs that just holds all of the junk that Im too lazy to put in the attic!!

Jenn

I'm Jenn Polson... in Westminster, CO. I would love a pair of brown leather, high-heeled boots. I can never bring myself to spend the money on them and my husband refers to them as "hooker boots", so I'm going to keep dreaming... :)

Rachel

Hi! I'm Rachel. I am from Westerville, Ohio. It is just north of Columbus. I'm probably one of your younger readers since I am only 20. This year for Christmas I will be waiting around to see if I was accepted into nursing school, although my own personal cobbler would be nice.

Gina Garland

My name is Gina Garland and I live in Garden Grove, CA. I'm a friend of Rachel Reeves...my husband is the Associate Pastor at ShoreLife Church in H.B. where Rachel's uncle is the Senior Pastor. :)

For Christmas, well, anything on my Amazon wish list! But mostly, I just want a lemon tree...yep, a lemon tree...so many uses for lemons and they're usually way too expensive for the amount of them I want to use.

Bobbi

Hi, it's Bobbi from Indianapolis Indiana...and I'd wish indulgently for a bernina sewing machine with all the bells and whistles or a MacBook Pro laptop! Smiles and love!

Taylor

Hi! I'm Taylor from Richardson, Texas. I've read your blog for a while, but I can't remember if I've ever commented before or not. This year for Christmas, I would like a Cannon Powershot camera that's pink. I want to camera to take pics of my little son & pink is my favorite color.

Carol J. Alexander

Hi, My name is Carol and I live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. For Christmas, although I really don't like this game, I could dream of getting the money to visit Ben. He is a boy we sponsor through Compassion and he lives in Uganda.

Elizabeth

My name is Elizabeth and I live in Somerville, Alabama. While Barb's wish for a gift certificate to the book store sounds great and actually my son did get me one last year to Books a Million, I have thought long and hard about your question and I can think of nothing in the gift department; I have everything I want and need already. However, "along the lines of an out-of-this-world...if you could have anything, anything you wanted," it would be that my 21 year old nephew who is paralyzed from his shoulders down could be healed or at least be able to receive the therapy that he needs to possibly get the use of his hands and arms back. In the 2 years since his accident, life has been very difficult for him as well as my sister (his mom) and I, who take care of him and see everything he goes through each day. I do believe in God and I am constantly praying for my nephew. Would all of you please pray for him (Skylar) as well.

Blessings,
Elizabeth

Lisa notes...

I'm Lisa from the Huntsville, Alabama, area. The luxury item I always crave is more TIME. So I can read and scrapbook and tons of other projects that I don't get around to.

But for a tangible gift, I'd love to have more bookshelves to house more books.

Helen at A Work of Heart

Hi I am Helen from Portland, Oregon.
Well, since you said to be extravagant...I would love a Kindle...but there is a part of me that wonders if I would miss the feel of holding a book in my hand and manually turning the pages...if that is the case than a hefty gift card for books! OH JOY!

Hannah

Hannah from Minnesota

I would love love love to take a trip with my husband! Maybe a cruise where we can just lay out in the sun all day. :)

Ashley

Hi! I'm Ashley and I currently live in Germany as an Army wife. For Christmas, all I want is for my little family to be all together under one roof and to maybe do a little more traveling since we've only been overseas for a few months now.

carolyn.leslie@cox.net

My name is Julie and I live in Ringold, OK....otherwise known as nowhere, USA, seriously!

Anyway, I LOVE your blog and I read it all of the time, I am just a little antisocial, so I don't comment. Sorry about that. :)

What I want for Christmas...well, that's a doozy but you asked for it, so here goes:

1. a happy Christmas for my family with all of our bills paid and enough to give my kids a good Christmas.

2. new countertops in my kitchen since right now(for 4 years) we have had painted concrete board.(seriously)

3. new flooring since mine is currently ripping up in places and looks like a volcano threw up.

4. a new sewing machine and LOTS of sewing books and material (to make me & my kids lots of clothes and new curtains and.......) I REALLY want to learn how to sew!!

there's more but I'll spare you the rest!!

~Love,
Julie

Blessings to your family! I already got my Christmas wish - a trip home (to the U.S. ) with my husband and girls to spend Christmas with my parents and siblings.

My indulgent gift would not actually be for me. I would choose a brand new metallic navy blue Corvette with a tan top and tan leather interior, for the love of my life. I have this dream with one day being able to surprise him on a special occasion with it, all tied up in a huge red ribbon. He blesses me with gifts all the time. To give him this would be awesome!!

Hi Joanne,
Christina from Longmont. I just finished Misplacing God and it really blessed me! I have been having a quiet time regularly now. Thank you for writing it. I really enjoy your blog- I lived in Phoenix for a while so I like hearing about your adventures there. Be sure to go have a roasted corn pizza at La Grande Orange restaurant at 4410 N. 40th Street. (Or you can go for breakfast and get a Spanish Latte and a piece of their brioche fruit toast. All amazing!) I would love a Nikon d700 camera for Christmas as I love photography and I am outgrowing my current camera.

Tara

Tara from Crestview, Florida...no wait, I JUST moved to Lake Eufaula, Alabama while we are buying a house in nearby Dothan.

I've been being so much more frugal these days and it has caused a huge change in me. I have to say it makes it very hard to think of frivolous things for myself. So, I guess that's a good thing.

But since we are in the process of buying a house on a budget that will not allow much money to replace floors and what-not, I would have to say I would love a gift card to Lowe's to buy things for the house.

Hi Joanne! Susan from Gilbert, Arizona

I would love to have my own ART room. I want an old table that I can paint or sculpt or make any type of mess on. I also want stuff, eclectic, that I can rifle through to make a collage on a whim. Things like buttons, baubles, old maps, pretty papers......oh what is the name for "stuff"......epherma? (something like that). Oh, yes!!!! and the big block wooden letters on the "turquoise" colored walls that spell out ARTSY FARTSY. Love, love, love this. You know as I write this....I believe this is possible....maybe not a whole room- but definitely a lil' ol' spot in the house somewhere.........

Monica

Monica from Lakewood, CO.

I would love to just get away with my husband and do something fun. We only get out together once or twice a year and it is always just enough time to grab dinner. I'd love to do one of those mystery dinners with him or go see Brian Regan, our favorite comedian. Of course, a more indulgent wish would be a cruise of some sort.

Nikki

Hey Joanne! Can't wait until you're back in the snowy north!

What do I want for Christmas? A new puppy... specifically, a Bernese/Pyr mix that would help put a spring back in my old dog's step (she just had surgery today, poor thing). It's not going to happen any time soon, unfortunately. :(

Nikki (Centennial, CO)

Megan

Hey Joanne! I've been thinking of doing something like this on my blog--wanting to see if more than my mom and mother in law read! :) I'm also in Phx metro area and for Christmas I would like a family vacation to Disneyland. I think my girls are at a good age for it and I can't wait to take them.

Rachel

For over-the-top ideas for a Christmas gift this year, I'd love a trip to Scotland with my husband, a bedroom set (after 10 years of marriage we still don't have bedroom furniture besides the mattress set), hardwood flooring on our main level or a Bernina. Plenty of options, though they are just little dreams and certainly not needs.

Jamie

Hello! It's Jamie here from San Antonio! There are a few extravagant things that I'd love for Christmas. We could REALLY use a new foundation for our house, cracked walls replaced, a new roof and new windows. Maybe just ask Ty to come and give us an Extreme Home MakeOver.

I'd also love a new sewing machine that works better than my current one. And maybe a few bells and whistles for my camera and my photography clients. Just extravagant wishes. Thanks for asking us to dream!!!

I may lose it around Christmas. Time will tell. I just keep praying (and worrying and crying) up a storm. It'd be a bonus if my husband could get a better job, too, as we could use some more $$ - I'm 16 weeks pregnant!
