As we were driving home from dinner last night (Thank you, Cran family--we had an awesome time and loved being invited into your home!), I checked my email on my iPhone (Have I mentioned how much I love it?) and saw I had an email entitled "Love your hair." How wonderful is that?
I opened it, and it only got BETTER. See?
How thoughtful is my sweet Dad? To read my blog and to comment about my hair? I am one blessed daughter.
I love you, Dad. And miss you.
I wonder if people who have dad's like this can ever REALLY know how blessed they are. You certainly are. I can't even wrap my brain around what it would feel like for my dad to comment on my hair, much less acknowledge my existence and notice me! Yes, you are very fortunate.

Angie,
I'm ashamed to say that it took me entirely too long to know the blessing I have in my dad. But I do know now and thank God for him everyday.
Joanne
P.S. I've learned how to share my mom, so I'm willing to learn to share my dad too! :)

Joanne - today is my Dad's birthday - he would have been 72. He has been with God for 14 years. He has been on my mind all day and I just had time to look in my email and I see your posting And it is a posting about your Dad. It was a special reminder to me of how wonderful a father's love is. Thank you. Kim

This is just like something my dad would do and say. He is always telling my sister and I (she's 46 and I'm 48) that we are the most beautiful women he knows, along with our mom. It doesn't matter how fat, skinny, preggers, broken out we might be/look, he always says it at just the right time. And you know what...he truly believes it!
Love you, girl.
