It's about time for a run, but like I said on Twitter, I'm just not feeling quite up to snuff. So I'm going to stay home this morning and hang with you instead.
I've said recently (Did I? Am I just thinking I did? Oh dear, I can't remember...). Anyway, there have been some changes around here lately. One of which is that I've gone back to work. Sort of officially, sort of not.
Here's the deal.
One of the things Toben and I rediscovered while we were up in mountains for that weekend away (I say "rediscovered" because we knew it, but had forgotten and/or ignored it for years) is that we work best when we work together. At pretty much whatever that work might be.
We have more fun. We do a better job. We work harder. We stay closer.
Despite that, I haven't been involved in his work much at all--well, not at all--for the past seven years. And one of the things the counselor recommended is that I get involved. Immediately.
So, as of last Monday I'm involved. I'm part of Toben's team. I'm homeschooling the girls in the morning and working in the afternoon.
And, yep, it's a lot. My goal is to work for two hours in the afternoon while the girls do some work on their own, play, or read. But as I catch up and figure out how this is going to work, it's been a lot more than that. We're in that place where things take longer because you're still figuring out how it's going to work and doing your best to catch up.
I am having fun though. I like being involved in his work. We complement each other well and I can see a difference. In the job. In me. In him. In us. It's good.
So that's a peek at what's up around here.
That's great, Joanne! I know for us, working together on something (be it a Sunday School lesson, debt reduction or whatever) gives us a sense of "team", which is a good thing.
Looks like you all are making good use of your "one year" :-)
Got your comment, and so appreciate the prayers!

What does he do, if I may ask? I am a relatively new reader so I don't know all your scoop just yet;)

Hello Joanne,
I apologize that I have not been in touch for a long time. Trust me when I say I think about you all the time. I could not wish you on time but I hope that you, Toben and the girls had a very Merry Christmas and wonderful holidays. Also, hope the new year brings new happiness, sunshine and brightness in your life and your beautiful family.I am so happy for you that have joined Toben at his work. What is going to be your role and what will you be doing?
Hoping to be more frequent now in my responses. Sending you the best!

Wow--I hope that all goes really well! Please give us more info later on how the homeschooling is working in just those morning hours--something I am trying to achieve here at home too! : )
And Joanne, you just won a blog award! Come by my blog if you want to claim it. : )

That is great that Toben has a job you in which can work together. My husband is a Marine Surveyor...aft, port...I know nothing. God always provides for our needs. Have fun working.

How great that ya'll were able to see that - and hey - it's something that you work WELL together! Many couples do not! The Lord will work it out - the schedules - and if you and Toben are growing closer - then that is great!

I'm impressed that the two of you were able to figure that out. When things aren't going well it is sometimes very hard to find solutions that make sense. Yeah for your team!
