The girls and I headed out to DIA last night (during which I "forced" them [Audrey's interpretation, not mine!] to listen to ABBA Gold and was happy to see that I remembered all the words to all the songs that my BFF Heidi and I used to sing in the back of her mom's Jetta when we lived in England together in Junior High--Audrey did NOT like it and looked at me like I was nuts, but Emma got right into the spirit of things!) to pick up some Arizona that headed our way.
(What's your favorite ABBA hit? I think mine's a toss up between Waterloo and SOS and Does Your Mother Know.)
My friend Ali and her girls are here for a long weekend. It's one of those fun things where the moms and girls all line up and love each other. Everyone has a friend and no one is left out. Love it when that happens!
So I'm going to pack a picnic today and we'll head back up to Rocky Mountain National Park for the day. I'm crossing my fingers for a bunch of elk--and a BEAR. Seen from the car, I think. Living in Colorado, I've only ever seen one--crossing the road after Toben and I whizzed by in my little black Fiero on our way to a mountain picnic when we were dating in high school. It was sort of a blur in the rearview mirror, and I'd love to see another.
(Can't help but think of Beth Moore and her "Delight me!" prayer and seeing her bears. Please, dear Lord, could we all see a bear today?!)
For the rest of the weekend, there's going to be lots of hanging out, being crafty, walks through the neighborhood, cookie baking, talking, talking, talking.
Just have to mention that when I was at the airport last night waiting I got a text from an unknown number that said, "Are you at the airport?" I texted back: "Yep. Who's this?" I hit send and then heard a voice say, "Look behind you!" It was my friend Ryan, waiting for his wife and son. They came up the escalator with Ali and her girls.
I love running into people I know when I'm out and about. It's one of my very favorite things. Right up there with people stopping by my house unexpectedly. Which happened a bunch last week.
Hope ya'll have a fabulous weekend!
Chiquitita is my favorite ABBA song. My sister had the lyrics written down in her Teen Book, and we used to belt it out together. :)
Isn't it lovely to have a full house and be surrounded by people you love? Have a lovely time with your friends!
