So my new running route takes me on a trail where I can peek into people's backyards. And as I ran past one the other morning, I couldn't tell if the sprinklers were on high, or if it was a pond. No matter, I had a yard epiphany.
A pond!
So yesterday I dug a pond.
This bed off the deck is big--and I want it to be super-duper full of flowers. Which, if you've looked at the price of plants lately, is not cheap. The space is so big and square and felt overwhelming. But, I thought, if I put in a pond, there'd be less space to fill with flowers. Not to mention the sound of water burbling in the background.
So, many, many, MANY wheelbarrows full of dirt later...
I really had envisioned a small pond. Somehow it's bigger than I thought it would be. Which doesn't make sense since I'm the one who dug it.
Anyone else out there a bit of an over-doer?
It's beautiful. I'm a bit jealous, actually, but not in a green way...you know? :)
Oh and I love the word burbling.
Enjoy! Oh and take Aleve...you might need it after all that digging and wheelbarrowing! ;)
Blessings,
Dori

You are such the over-doer!! How did you do that? I wouldn't even know how! Did you get one of those kind you buy? Like a kidney shaped pond/pool insert? And the rocks? So cool!
