Here's a peek at our room--much the same as it used to be, but with the addition of our big, comfy chairs and a desk for Toben since he gave up his office for a guest room. (Thanks, babe!)
Miss Millie (oh how I missed her last year--she was the first thing I brought up from the basement) lives here, along with the trunk that belonged to Toben's grandmother. The wardrobe was mine from when we lived in England, the window over the bed was such a deal ($10 at the Paris Street Market in Littleton--saw one just like it the other day for big, big bucks).
The fireplace is an electric one we found at Home Depot on a massive sale--and the best part is the remote so you can turn it on without getting out of bed.
Hmm...there are big floor to ceiling windows in our room, but somehow I didn't get a picture of them.
And the desk? It belonged to my grandparents and Toben and I refinished it the summer before we got married. It had been painted with a zillion coats of white paint and we used toothpicks and toothbrushes to strip the braid around the top. I have a picture somewhere in the basement. (Let me go see if I can find it!)
NO WAY! Found the picture. And in the background was my car from high school. I so loved my Fiero! Found a picture of it too. The photos are a lot blurry--sorry. Took pictures of the snapshots with my phone and then emailed them to myself. Too lazy to go back downstairs to scan them!
Welcome to the summers of 1990 and 1991!
What history...I love things with a story behind them.
