There are books I read again and again. And then again. Most I read every single year--and have for years.
They're more than books, more than words on a page. They are friends. If you know what I mean, I'm guessing you have some books like this too--and I'd love to hear what they are. ::hint, hint:: If not, just think about a movie you watch over and over. It's kind of like that, but kind of different too.
So off the top of my head, here's what I read again and again, almost every year.
Fiction:
The Little House on the Prairie books
All of the Anne of Green Gables books
All of the Chronicles of Narnia
The Harry Potter series
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Hinds' Feet on High Places (this one I've read three times since July!)
Mountains of Spices
The Mitford series of books
The Secret Garden
Non-fiction:
Living Prayer by Robert Benson
Walking on Water by Madeleine L'Engle
The Holy Wild by Mark Buchanan
Kingdom of Love by Hannah Hurnard (again, twice since July)
Winged Life by Hannah Hurnard
The Rest of God by Mark Buchanan
And of course there are Advent devotionals and Lenten devotionals that I read each year as well.
I'm pretty sure almost all of these can be found in my Amazon shop.
Oh my! How do you find the time to read all the new books that come out? I think you may have found the secret to more hours in the day....

Have you read the Betsy Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace?? Add them to your list and make your girls read them. I didn't discover these wonderful books until just a few years ago when I started reading them aloud to my girls and they are so good. If you like Anne, you will like these. :)

I return to Mitford at least once a year - usually just as I finish the last book, I start all over again! I found out recently that she's writing a new Mitford book about Father Tim and Cynthia's trip to Ireland. Can't wait!

Oh my goodness when do you find time to read all of those books?! I can barely make it through two pages before I fall asleep at night. It takes me weeks to read a single book anymore.
