Hello, my name is Janna, and I've been given permission by Toben to hijack Joanne's blog for a little bit. I met Joanne several years ago through her lovely sister Kristen. I have the pleasure of considering these two sisters my dearest of friends.
Many of you, like me, feel honored to call Joanne "friend.” Some of you know her in real life and some from the blogosphere. Some of you may have never met Joanne but have come to her blog to get updates and to pray. I feel confident that Joanne would consider you a friend, also.
The outpouring of love, prayer and interest in Joanne's condition has been overwhelming. The family is extremely moved and encouraged by how the Body of Christ has come together in this time of crisis. Many of you have asked how you can help. So with the collaboration of some of Joanne's many friends, we've organized some new features on Joanne's blog to Help the Heims.
If you have ever met, read or come into contact with Joanne, you have probably been blessed in some way. That is Joanne. Now it is our turn to bless her. Let's join together to show her family our support and love.

Continuing to pray and start back with Memory Monday with Psalm 46 this week for the Heim family. Thank you for the fire and love of Scriptures that Joanne has helped fan in my life these past two years. God's Word is the only hope we have.

Praying and praying more. God will not let Joanne out of my mind. Even felt compelled to fast the day yesterday. Maybe we should do that corporately also.
Thanks for the updates Janna, will keep checking back for more. Even though I've never met Joanne, I feel a connection as a Siesta and also as a homeschooling mom of three.

I'm praising God for answered prayer. Only God can make Joanne's numbers come down so dramatically.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)
This morning in my quiet time and prayer for Joanne and her family, God revealed that though Joanne is physically in a coma...some of His children are spiritually in one. I believe He is using Joanne to awaken all of us.
From her sisters blog, I read that we need to claim what we pray in thankfulness....as if it were already done. Here's the direct quote from Kristen's blog on sharing an excerpt from "Jesus Calling". When you bring Me prayer requests, lay out your concerns before Me. Speak to Me candidly; pour out your heart. Then thank Me for the answers that I have set in to motion long before you can discern results."! Be still and know that I am God. He hears our cries and petitions. Oh Lord help us to wait on you.

PRAYING!!! praying for Joanne and Toben, the girls and her family! I have been praying since last Tuesday when I added her at The Lighthouse of Prayer, where people can come and leave a prayer and updated today. Added her button there as well! So thanks for all the updates, the button and the webinar on Joanne's behalf. Claiming Psalm 46 with you:
"God is Joanne's Refuge and strength; an ever present help in time of trouble!!!
Therefore Joanne and we, will not fear...
The Lord Almighty is with Joanne and Toben and all the family...
Come and see what the Lord has done..."
and now I will...
"BE still and know that HE IS GOD..."

I'm a Siesta and just clicked on the coperate prayer but not sure how that works...I read the latest update with the swelling going down. I wanted to share with Joanne. Every morining at 5am my husband and I walk the local high school track. It has become my hour of prayer. As I walk the laps I lift those in need of prayer to Him. This morning I thanked Him for the answered prayers of so many I have prayed for and spent the remaining time covering Joanne with prayer. I so wanted to say Psalm 46 but did not have it memorized so I asked God to honor His Word and have Jesus and His Spirit intervene and say it for me. So I spent one lap in quiet with tears streaming down my face, as I felt them speaking the beloved Psalm. I knew Joanne would have a good day.

I am continuing to lift Joanne up in prayer and your family as well and Toben specifically. I went through a similar injury with my husband and can relate to everything you are going through. His brain injury was a result of a car accident but the same, medical induced coma, ventilators, every day scary and hopeful at the same time. He was 29 at the time and we had one son who was 2. He is now 34, back to his job and we have two more sons. God is good and even in the impossible will do more than we can ever imagine. I will keep those prayers coming. I pray that your wife will recover in the same miraculous manner that my husband did. Praise God for such wonderful family support. It is what continued to give me the strength each day to get up and get through.

I have been visiting Joanne's blog since I received an email from my niece who works with a friend of Joanne's. I have been lifting Joanne up in prayer and will continue to do so. Her family is in my prayers as well. God is still in the miracle business so keep looking to Him. My sister had a brain aneurysm to rupture and was given no hope to live. 5 weeks later she was HOME!!! 28 years later, she is doing very well, and you would never know that had even happened! She truly is a walking miracle and it was through power of prayer that she made it. GOD IS SO GOOD! I am joining you all in praying for another miracle, as I know it can happen. God bless you all, and know that your sweet wife/mother/friend is being lifted up in Tennessee by many!!! I have Joanne's button on my blog as well!

I have just featured Joanne's story on my blog's ministry A Meal in the Mail, where readers can send you a meal in the mail through gift cards, restaurant cards, ect.
Before I came to this blog I wrote about rest, and how when we are at rest we hear God best. Then I came to this blog and read Toben's words from yesterday's post, "we want her brain completely at rest." God is speaking LOUDLY, and I pray His favor surrounds Joanne tonight.

I realize $10 is barely a drop in the bucket, but if all of us that have admired Joanne through her blog in the past (and are now following her medical updates) each committed to a donation, any donation, well, there would certainly be a nice chunk of change to help the family out in such a stressful time, not only emotionally and physically, but financially as well.
